Terms of Use

By using GreenMiles you agree to these terms. GreenMiles is a free UMS student project run by GreenMiles by Respire. Contact: contact the developer directly at hi@respire.my.

Safety first

• Routes are suggestions only. Always follow traffic rules, signs, campus security and your own judgement.
• Night (Safety) mode tries to avoid dark, forest or secluded paths and warns you about risky stretches. Those warnings rely on map data and may be incomplete. If a warning appears, choose another route, go with a friend, or call UMS Security.
• Never use the app while driving or riding. Set the route before you move.

Fair play and anti-cheat

Points come only from trips our server verifies from your GPS track. Fake GPS apps, replayed or edited tracks, vehicle trips logged as walks or rides, shared or multiple accounts used to farm points, and any attempt to attack or overload the service are not allowed. We may void points, reset scores or suspend accounts that break these rules, and our decision is final.

Competition rules

• Points: walk or cycle 3 points plus 1 per full km (minimum 400 m), bus 2, carpool 1, solo car 0.
• At most 8 scored trips per day (Malaysia time). Repeating the same route within 30 minutes scores 0.
• The leaderboard shows nicknames only. Nicknames must not be offensive or impersonate anyone, and we may change ones that are.
• The challenge window and any prizes are announced in the app or by the organisers. Rankings at the close of the window, after anti-cheat review, are final.

Your account

Keep your device and passkey secure. You can delete your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy.

No warranty

GreenMiles is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Maps, routes, safety information, CO₂ estimates and bus data may be wrong or out of date, and the service may be unavailable at times. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from using the app.

Changes

We may update these terms. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
